This is terrorism. If news reports about the shooter are accurate we are talking about an individual radicalised online into an extremist belief system who then acted on those beliefs to massacre people. This is terrorism. It is extremism. It is radicalisation.

The article explains an art installation in one of our parks, highlighting street harassment experienced by women. The photo is of its burnt remains in the same park. I don't have words to describe my feelings towards which ever asshole did this.

The burnt remains of a large wooden structure featuring locations and experiences of women experiencing street harassment in Sheffield.

The incel movement is a form of extremism and it cannot be ignored any longer

“In one corner, a UK snooker star. In the other, his bitter ex” Is Reanne Evans, 12 time women’s snooker world champion, not a snooker star as well then? 🤔

The Taliban in Afghanistan could have today committed to the normal business of Govt, the economy, defence, education, health, that sort of thing, but no, it’s first focus is on what women can do Because men, everywhere, want to control women What the hell do they have to fear?

It was a catastrophe for Afghan women and girls then. It will be a catastrophe for them now. Here is one report from an Afghan colleague:

In June, we caught the ire of a man for having Laura Bates vital Men Who Hate Women in the window. He posted pictures of us with vitriolic misogynistic captions & filmed himself with an axe, saying we had fucked with the wrong man. We were made to feel ridiculous for our fear. 1/

These things are connected. When we repeatedly fail to take male violence against women seriously, when we fail to name it and fail to tackle it, women die

Just 6 days ago a man knifed 10 people on a train in Tokyo because "he saw women who looked happy and wanted to kill them". Nobody called that terrorism either.

Repeated news reports, police and politicians all saying this is not terror related. This is shocking and shameful. Extremist misogyny, male supremacy, sees women die all over the world, including repeatedly in incel massacres. We cannot tackle it if we do not name it

We’re talking about allegations relating to rape and sex trafficking, but the main thing to worry about is not overshadowing the Queen’s Jubilee. Priorities.

What you see today, i.e. a young girl forced to marry, get pregnant, & dies, is not an aberration! It is part of the same CONTINUUM. Female persons are not seen as fully human, with individual rights, choice, rights to control our own bodies. Yes. Those attitudes are widespread/

Why is this not headline news and why are the suspects out on bail?

The headline emphasises the grim determination of the BBC to avoid reporting what really happened. A woman was *set on fire* & *3 men* were arrested. She didn’t spontaneously combust. This was a deliberate act of vicious violence.
