Bought some acid on the internet a few days ago. I splashed some on my face for the first time last night so I can only assume I look like a Disney princess this morning

[CW acid attack] There are incels on the internet who want to throw acid in women's faces as vengeance for... something. Anyway I'm picturing them accidentally buying 40% mandelic acid and splashing someone and she's like, "what is that, I've never looked so radiant"

Acid attacks are a horrible way of disfiguring women who reject a man's advances, infamously practiced by Indian misogynist. The idea is to scar her so horribly that nobody will want to look at her. It's an awful practice.

I was a little worried that this would be seen as downplaying how horrible acid attacks are, and you're completely right to call me on that

Thank you! It's so disgusting, I feel it should be treated the same as any other threat of misogynistic violence (like threatening to shoot an ex). Appreciate the self-reflection, you don't see much of that on social media!

We Hunted The Mammoth posted incel forum convos after the van attack; horrifying. Throwing acid has been especially stuck in my head and taking the piss out of them this way has helped. But you're right, minimizing too much risks ignoring that this happens and how awful it is
