All law enforcement investigations require informants and/or court-approved collection of electronic communications and other evidence. Trump and his allies deceive the American people when claiming that these methods are unusual or inappropriate in this case. They are not.

Yes. And that's why the sun must set on the Republican Party. Much like the Whig party lost moral legitimacy in the 1850s so too has the GOP of today.
No matter how I felt about Trump when he was elected I took solace in the separation of powers and the will of Congress to keep us safe. When the history of this era is written the GOP leadership will be blamed for everything that happens.
