Only about 15% of Republicans oppose Trump (and Trumpism). It may not be much and I certainly wish it were more, but it’s plenty to significantly impact elections and, if the party stays on its current path, cause a meaningful shift in the American political landscape.https://twitter.com/bpell2/status/966887431596163072 …

Jennifer/Evan, how widespread is this level of awareness among those historically aligned with the GOP? It’s good to Trump and minions being called out by GOP journalists, operatives, and a few former GOP congressmen, but is this a fringe/elite movement or something bigger?

One thing that would be helpful is an alternative "conservative" news outlet I could steer my FOX-ified friends to. One that is not so heavily laden with Trumpaganda.

Agreed. Except they don’t get excepting @MSNBC & @TheDailyShow, TV news depts are anything but liberal-leaning. They’re corporate (of a total of only 6 co’s tha networks) & all they care about are stock prices & eyeballs. Corporate media is not left not right but mercenary.

I’m curious as to the actual numbers that these percentages reflect. Because myself and many many others no longer identify as Republicans but rather independents

I've been keeping a list of subtle changes I am seeing around me. This week I noticed that KSL (the main media in Utah) is starting to sound more and more critical of Trump. Things ARE changing here for the Republican party.

That 15% along with the newly activated voter group is enough!! Even in Red SC. It is ENOUGH, because WE have had ENOUGH!

Based on my family, they vote Republican just because they always have. And they believe Republicans. But none of them have a real clue about what Republicans stand for. My mom has been calling me a liar when I tell her things being supported now.

@evan_mcmullin Demographics almost guarantee that time is almost up for the Trump led GOP with Millenials heavily voting Dem. We will need that 15% to rebuild the GOP into a modern party. Unchecked, the far left could become almost as nutty as the far right.

Many of us who were Republican in 2016, no longer identify as GOP. That may be why the number is so low.
