Here's a thought... What if Trump was compromised years ago, but w/ his billionaire reputation when he ran Rs thought he was self funding. Then after taking a blackmailable amount of $ they found out and decided to go all in instead of come clean.

Follow on consequence is that after getting their tax breaks in, they'll resign and live the high life while denying they ever knew what was going on while the ones that remain go deeper into Russia's pockets.
