1. I still believe that there must be some kind of quid pro quo. What is Russia getting in return for messing around in the elections? Is it simply for the fun of it: dish out a few mil just for the fun of it? Or is there something to be given in return?

The sanctions, obvs. Why else would GOP platform change on this under Trump team’s direction? Then Flynn assuring Russia all would be fine (for which he’s now indicted). Then Trump et al frantically trying to lift them first few weeks in office. Now, not enforcing new sanctions.

Trump still is cooperating with Putin by refusing to implement sanctions, dismantling the State Department thereby ceding influence to Russia and by also refusing to marshal the resources of the Executive Branch to stop the ongoing cyber attacks by Russia.

And yet a significant handful are still falling for his BS while the spineless, many of whom are in office, stand silent on the sidelines.

Trump has shown that he's not a bumbling idiot. He premediates and acts deliberately. How he enabled Kremlin's role in the election was not just self-serving, but payback! But also perhaps under duress because of what Putin can hold over him.

Shameful treatment of our allies, NATO, breaking treaties, insulting a whole continent, hollowing out State Department, not enforcing sanctions, tweets has allies worried, some turn to Russia & China as is Putin & Xi’s goal.

Don't forget McConnell and Ryan knew as well. It was McConnell who blocked making the Russian actions public in 2016. His actions clearly placed Party over Country.
