That POTUS would work w/ a foreign adversary to lure our own IC into accepting fake intel, setting a trap to discredit the IC, is (no other word for it) TREASON. Trump has no allegiance, except to his own survival. A most dangerous man.

Evan, assuming there was active participation by Trump or ppl close to him in the 'dangle,' how is such coordination happening, at a practical level (despite the glare of publicity on Trump-Russia relations) ? Could Pompeo be part of the answer ? Is he sound, in your view ?

Are you saying that the Times in this case is an unwitting tool of Putin? Honest question. I worry about media being used by manipulators, not being savvy enough to see when they end up helping their foes. This is why some argue for "strategic silence." Your thoughts?

It’s an interesting question and something to consider. But the disinformation will come from Trump regardless. Both US intel and the Times did a good job seeing through this apparent Kremlin effort to deceive. Hopefully, the story helps more understand what we’re up against.
