It left Trump voters vulnerable to that snake oil salesman. The rest of us knew he was no good. What we didn't know is that we had a past veep wannabe with peculiar Russian contacts & that our congress would abandon any semblance of keeping their oaths. We'll reboot without them.

What do you think about reducing the influence of money in politics?

Would it be because Republicans keep rubberstamping nominations of unqualified officials, some with serious conflicts of interests, directly making money out of their posts?

This is thanks to the Republican party, Evan, which has consistently trashtalked the government since Ronald Reagan declared "government" as "the problem" in 1980. Republicans have only criticized government, except in the military context. Very harmful to trust in government.

Also discourages good people from working for government and running for office.

My dissertation is on social and institutional trust and the decrease in support for democracy. I created a new social trust measure. This is a dangerous combo.
