With all due respect it is our policies & war for corporate greed that has caused the entire middle east to be destabilized. We hide so much wrong under National sec. our intelligence services have been used wrongly far too often.

Plus bombing. Which is normally helpful when responding to humanitarian crisis, weirdly did nothing to avert this one.

Assad didn't start the rebellion, and would his overthrow not have led to interminable civil war between religious factions as in Iraq, Egypt and Libya? Don't tell me it would have led to a secular democracy. Even Turkey can't do that.

It is indeed very rare that a government starts a rebellion..... But the brutal repression of the demonstrations led to it.

Yes and as a nation we exacerbate that violence by glorifying force over diplomacy and weaponizing the worldhttps://twitter.com/joeyandmosh/status/961730310986747904?ref_src=twcamp%5Eshare%7Ctwsrc%5Em5%7Ctwgr%5Eemail%7Ctwcon%5E7046%7Ctwterm%5E1 …

Because republicans did not give Obama the authority to enforce the red line....
-
Obama didn't need congressional authority to take action in Syria, he was more interested in pursuing the pointless Iran nuclear "deal" than saving lives or preventing chemical weapons attacks. A few airstrikes or cruise missiles would have crippled Assad, no intervention needed

People with good lives and jobs and education — now they are treated as outcasts

“There, but for the grace of God, go I. “ A reminder that this could be any of us, is all of us. I lose sleep over our failure to help as a nation, during the largest humanitarian crisis of our lifetimes.
