The plight of the worker is real but turning inward and looking backward is not the answer. We must address the concerns of the 21 century with 21-century realism and forward thinking.

This is an important discussion to have -- when inequality and insecurity grow, some charlatans sell nativist rhetoric instead of looking to ways to decrease that inequality and insecurity. That is, sadly, what is happening in both Germany and America.
