That's my thought. I get Republicans doing what their unhinged base wants, but they're going so beyond that--it looks like they think something will unearth that will destroy them all.
Isn't this what the GOP has been about for decades, grabbing and holding power? Gerrymandering, voter suppression, stolen Supreme Court seats, undercutting voter rights law... Trump didn't start this, he just set the GOP free.

His legal team didn’t quit. They transitioned leaving the newest lawyer who works with plea deals. Don’t need 4 lawyers when you flip.
The irony of it is, the more the House GOP hitches their wagon to Trump in their lust for more power, the more power they lose. Lies, gossip, and cover-ups will never yield the kind of power that truth, integrity, and humility will.
They should be so lucky that only the Mueller probe will take them out of power. In fact they did it to themselves.
