Mr. Steele cares for the US much, much more than many of our elected officials. In fact, our allies cares for the US more than many in Congress or the Executive branch. So much to repair.
Due to his concerns about American national security, Cristopher Steele volunteered the dossier information to the FBI with which he never had a formal relationship to research Trump/Russia matters.

Steele should be applauded. Imagine the uproar if someone in similar circumstances failed to alert the FBI about, say, an Islamic terrorist threat! Would anyone say, gee, the dude was right to keep quiet because the Dems/Republicans/Greens/Libertarians were paying him?
