Why are so many GOP leaders spreading conspiracy theories? When you control the whole of government and you’ve already advanced much of your agenda yet poll numbers remain historically low, there’s no one left to blame.

It's the US version of prepping the information battlefield. They fear bad news so they want to pollute the information space so that a large segment of the population is either too confused to respond, or they attach to fringe theories and the notion that everything is fake news
