Milton Friedman, Reagan's economic advisor, championed getting rid of welfare, food stamps, and low income housing, and replacing it with a progressive universal basic income, called Negative Income Tax. This would cut back on bureaucracy, easy inequality and help us transition

If we did that, coupled with either single payer or a tiered system of healthcare, like they have in Switzerland, we would grow the economy, help with income inequality, help stop the poor from dying much earlier than the rich, and encourage entrepreneurship. It's a win/win/win

All those making money driving for Uber, Lyft, and taxi services will be out of a job in ten years if current trends hold. I don't hear anyone speaking out for those millions the way Trump & the GOP spoke out about coal miners.

I actually drive delivery for maybe this company and I'd then posit this question: If the idea isn't to phase out drivers completely why would you create a driverless car? What's the business incentive other then to reduce the total wages the company has to pay?

There will be increased demand to create/maintain driverless/electric vehicles/tech on one hand & reduced demand 4 drivers on the other. Don’t see a lot of CS in pizza. Continued shift from unskilled to skilled/automated manufacturing. Ditto 4 groceries.
