If they want to defend freedom and opportunity they would be fighting for THEIR country, NOT to stay and HIDE in OURS.
The president’s measure of human beings, immigrants or otherwise, is unAmerican. I’ll take a downtrodden Haitian, Salvadoran or African who hungers for and will defend freedom and opportunity in America over a privileged bigot who’d sell our liberty to the highest bidder any day.

I can answer why they didn't stay. To escape poverty, religious persecution & to seek opportunity. Same reasons folks come here today. Yes we have to have borders and procedures for immigration, but it is immigrants who have and will make us great, not isolationism.
