Let's not forget that this metric doesn't capture things like chronic underemployment. *A* job solves many problems, but it's not a panacea

Exactly. "Employed" only means minimum 1 hr/wk which is why I think "employment numbers" are largely garbage.

Look at the detail - a lot in bars/restaurants (re-opening after hurricanes shut them). Next month will show the trend.

Jobs numbers don't tell us much these days. There's no point in reporting them as though they signify positive job trends; they don't.
