Sure, but "caricature" seems unduly dismissive of a model with great predictive value regarding acts of most self-described conservatives.
The caricature fits only because so many "conservatives" have abandoned the principles on which the GOP was founded.

I disagree with the notion that liberty, equality, and self-rule are fundamentally left-wing ideas. They were founding GOP principles.

Polls have down many vote by tradition & then change their "beliefs" based on what their party of choice says/does, sadly. Infuriating. :/
