Refusing to even consider another party's Supreme Court nomination 'because it occurred in the final year of a presidency' and then rushing through your own party's nomination in the final months of the next presidency is itself a form of court packing.

If Republicans in Congress are truly concerned about court packing – as they should be – they should've considered Garland's confirmation in 2016 or remain consistent now and defer this confirmation until the next presidency. Trying to have it both ways is politicizing the court.

Correct. And expanding the court to rebalance it should rightly be viewed as unpacking.

Wise words. Unfortunately the Republican party exists today solely to maintain power. Ethics and standards were left behind years ago.
