I don’t understand the idea that senators don’t have time for witnesses. For heaven’s sake, isn’t that exactly what their time is for? To defend the Constitution?

They desperately want this over by Tuesday so Trump is not insanely demented during his SOTU. Imagine having that as a guideline for holding a mock trial for the criminal in office.
