In other words they will drive the Republic into the ground to remain in control
Republican leaders in Congress believe—and privately say—that they fear the country is quickly changing in ways that may soon deprive them of power, and that they must use the power they have now to delay it as long as possible, even by harming the Republic if necessary.

So blowing up the constitution is worth it because they afraid of demographic changes? Instead of selling their version of government, they have to CHEAT? Doesn't say much about their ideas does it?

Translated: a bunch of old white guys want to keep power in the hands of old white guys even if it means we live under authoritarian rule. Wake up, America. It’s time to drop tools and strike/boycott until the Senate does the right thing.
