It is important our president have a free hand to make foreign policy decisions. One who understands he works for the people, and that the policy decisions made are done to better America and our national security. Trump, however abuses his power and office and can’t be trusted.
It’s normal for presidents to make foreign policy decisions with political considerations in mind, but what Trump did dangerously exceeded that. He used his power to highjack a national security issue for the purpose of benefiting personally, while clearly harming U.S. interests.

None of that is in serious dispute. What remains in dispute, though barely, is whether the nakedly corrupt exercise of raw political power for no purpose beyond protecting a deeply corrupt POTUS will have any legal or political consequence. I’m pretty pessimistic.

According to team trump, it shouldn't have consequences because the president believes only he can save us all. Which is TERRIFYING! They are LITERALLY floating the idea that nothing the president does is bad as long as he "BELIEVES" its good!!!!

Another piece that never gets mentioned: Putin & Russia are Trump’s allies. So, if Ukraine doesn’t do what Trump wants then Trump can get his other ally, Putin, to increase the assault on and invasion of Ukraine. So it’s a physical threat on 2 fronts.
