The answer to your second question has already been demonstrated, no! The only thing they will put above their fealty to Trump is their instinct of self preservation. If they choose to stop covering for Trump, this is the reason, not their consciences!

They possess none. Not one that I’ve witnessed. But their great leader brags he has NEVER had to apologize for ANYTHING, and has LIED his way out of everything his entire life. I don’t feel hopeful.

Reports coming out today is that the Whitehouse received the book draft on Dec 30th, just a few days before the strike on Iran. Question is did that have any influence on Trump's decision hoping to in turn influence Bolton, an Iran hawk.
