That's the irony. By taking all these extreme measures to protect Trump from accountability today, Republicans are setting a precedent that will make it nearly impossible to hold a corrupt Democrat president accountable tomorrow. But they can't see past the ends of their noses.

Current Republican legislators are fine with that. Honestly, Trump's Abuse of Power is the only way many of these Republican legislators keep their jobs.
