It's a relief that Tehran and President Trump appear to be deescalating militarily, but it's also no small thing that the president's decisions have resulted in a dangerous recent precedent: an overt foreign state attack on a US military base without a US military response.

@AmSolidarity, but here I find their verbiage troublesome. I want a president who will--with great wisdom--use military force ONLY when necessary and ONLY proportionately. I don't want a president who is "anti-war" - 1 more reply

It’s frustrating our expectations are so low we are happy Trump didn’t start world war 3. I guess some credit is due to Iran for choosing not to escalate. In some ways, in this instance, they have shown more restraint than Trump. I wonder if we haven’t seen the last of it though.

Reminds me of the Trump’s big US missile strike on Syria after the chemical weapon incident that supposedly upset him so much (yeah, right.
