It's a relief that Tehran and President Trump appear to be deescalating militarily, but it's also no small thing that the president's decisions have resulted in a dangerous recent precedent: an overt foreign state attack on a US military base without a US military response.

We need an antiwar third party presidential campaign that shows what stable leadership looks like and holds some values that conservatives care about. Join @AmSolidarity #WholeLife #Distributism @BrianCarrollASP

Normally I'm with @AmSolidarity, but here I find their verbiage troublesome. I want a president who will--with great wisdom--use military force ONLY when necessary and ONLY proportionately. I don't want a president who is "anti-war"

It’s frustrating our expectations are so low we are happy Trump didn’t start world war 3. I guess some credit is due to Iran for choosing not to escalate. In some ways, in this instance, they have shown more restraint than Trump. I wonder if we haven’t seen the last of it though.

Fact is we went from a stalled nuclear program to one that will now move forward. As successful here as he has been with NK. Not at all. This was not done to stop Iran aggression, it was to distract from his impeachment and #deutschbank funding revelation

I understand what you’re saying; however, glad he decided not to continue escalating.

The weakness is the worst in modern times: a president that illegally goes to war sends a message to any enemy we’ll back down. A president that threatens war crimes assures world opinion will not be with us.

Reminds me of the Trump’s big US missile strike on Syria after the chemical weapon incident that supposedly upset him so much (yeah, right. 🙄). We mainly hit stuff that could be fixed in just days. Very few casualties. It’s like “War Light”—all the flash without the carnage.
