You are giving Senator Collins way more than the benefit of the doubt. She has failed to uphold her oath of office. She is playing politics (who cares what Senator Schumer did in 1999? shouldn't the standard be what is right?).
I hope @SenatorCollins will be an advocate for a fair Senate trial with witnesses. This is a matter of defending our elections and self-government. Every single Republican Senator, every last one, knows allowing witnesses and withheld documents will further incriminate trump and make a 'no" vote difficult. They will never put themselves in that position. Never.

We’re way past that now Evan. Collins has proven time and again that she needs to be replaced. She cannot be counted on for anything beyond handwringing, “deep concern” and then a vote right in line with Trump and McConnell. She’s beyond useless
