I hope you're right, but suspect @Reince is. I imagine the lesson the GOP will take from today is to begin impeachment on Inauguration Day and do no other work, so as to frustrate a POTUS that doesn't come from their party. The GOP no longer cares about governing. Only winning.

...they "learned" that well before now. Remember them talking about impeaching HRC before the election? It's all standard GOP hypocrisy. They don't believe they have to follow the same rules.

He's really saying what Republicans will try to do to the next Democratic President, regardless of their behavior in office.
-
...and he is forgetting that Republicans threatened to impeach the last Democratic President during his entire 8 years in office, alleging baseless new grounds - from Birtherism to Behghazi - over and over and over again.

I agree. The ‘we’re impeaching too often’ POV is nonsense. It’s ain’t ‘us.’ It’s the character of the individuals who were impeached and their enablement by those who want a less fettered presidency. We should exercise the separate powers set forth in our Constitution more often.

The Benghazi hearings were "impeachment light." They knew they had nothing, so they never went through actual impeachment inquiries. The difference now is Trump actually committed impeachable offenses and then some.
-
Absolutely right. Bhengazi was nothing more than a pre arranged impeachment based on fake news. Everything the GOP does is "trumped up " fake news now. It'll catch up with them. It already is. Who's retiring next?

I read Reince's tweet as a threat to any Dem president where GOP has majority in the House. A Tan suit will be worthy of impeachment.

I only hope you are right. I shudder when political pundits like Mr. Priebus try to normalize Trump's outrageous amorality. I am worried, though, that there were so many Republican apologists who were so willing to glide right past the actual corrupt behavior to harp on process.
