Republicans typically cite fake Founding Father quotes, ala George Washington hoax quotes "God and Bible are the best government" and "Armed and disciplined to fight tyranny including from their own government".
It says a lot that House Democrats are the ones quoting George Washington in these hearings and House Republicans are not.

I believe fervently in the US Constitution. Once that drew me to the Republican party, but these days it attracts me to the Democrat party. I am an Independent. It seems like those GOP warnings that Dems would turn our republic into a dictatorship were all just projection.

I don't want to go over board on my praise for the Dem's here. What they did to protect Clinton in '98 was equally as comical, but I have to say I've aligned a hell of a lot more with them in these last three years than I have with the GOP
