Some say the GOP is shrinking under Trump but according to Gallup, 29% of eligible voters considered themselves Republicans when he was elected and now 30% do. It may be more accurate to say that the GOP is changing, losing some and gaining others. It’s a big, long-term problem.

It’s a fair question. If the GOP is going to exist, it needs to be a healthy, thriving party committed to American values. The continued size of this reshaped party is a big, long-term problem because it will be very difficult to either reform it or replace it.
