Well, it's a psychological weakness in the religious minded. That's why do many cult of personality are around religious leaders like Jim Jones, David Koresh, Moonies, etc. Just get the 'chosen by God's thing and you're golden.

Interestingly, when you try to use the same arguments for Obama, suddenly everyone disappears. Racism is strong in these folks...

It's basically this: Better a White King than a Black President. (Or Woman President). It's mind-boggling on one hand and completely unsurprising on another.

Those of us who don't believe in god at all are already subject to tyranny of religion in politics. Religious public servants need to make up their minds whether they serve the citizens, ALL of us, or they serve their god(s). For too long we've tried having it both ways.

Whether you believe in God is immaterial. In America, there is no national religion/non-religion. There IS a separation of church and state. While we can worship as we please, it is should not be a part of our government!
