      “Asset” actually has a specific intelligence meaning and that isn’t it. We should be more careful with words like this. Using them incorrectly is counterproductive.

      In the everyday world, "asset" means something that you can count on to help you reach your goals. Lindsey is an asset to Russia. You want to parse words and normalize that, your choice.

      If you’re accusing me of normalizing Graham’s behavior, that’s silly. When you accuse someone of being a “Russian asset” you’re saying that they’re a recruited agent of Russian intelligence. That’s what that actually means. Using that term loosely hurts more than it helps.

          No, pretending Lindsey Graham isn't intentionally advancing Russian propaganda, whether recruited to do so by the Russians or someone else, or just because, hurts more than it helps. You want to draw a distinction without a difference because of IC jargon, you go ahead.

          And frankly, when someone spreads Russian disinformation the way Lindsey constantly does, I don't think it's too big a stretch to think he may be a actual "Russian asset" in the IC sense. I don't see why you can be so certain he's not.
