I think the russians have told him if he doesn't do what they say they will tell the world that he is stupid. a secret he desperately is trying to keep.
It's completely reckless and irresponsible for Devin Nunes to refer to a constitutionally authorized and substantively justified impeachment process as an effort to "overthrow" the president. Bad faith seems to be his only motive.

Professionally, Devin Nune's conduct is inexcusable. But his loyalty to the President additionally pertains to a larger related agenda (motive) that I believe is connected with far-right conservative Supreme Court appointments, as well as matters beyond that.

Nunes was part of the transition team while a lot of the shady stuff detailed in the mueller report happened. Also he was leaking info to the WH while chair of the HPSIC. To an extent, he’s trying to cover his ass. The judges and stuff are secondary.
