While House Republicans' failure to vote in favor of the impeachment inquiry is no surprise, I still expect them to do the right thing for the country. We all should. By not doing so today, they exhibited clear unworthiness for such high office. I hope that changes soon.

"I still expect them to do the right thing for the country. " Wish I could share that optimism. But from where I sit, I expect every GOP lawmaker to continue to attack the legitimacy of the impeachment inquiry instead of examining the evidence of Trump's wrong doing.

In my opinion, this vote was more important than the impeachment vote. This was a vote for transparency and for the truth to come out. House Republicans voted against transparency and to suppress truth. The impeachment vote will be the opportunity to interpret that truth.
