Oh come fucking on. Don't fucking bothsides this. There's ONE FUCKING SIDE which is defending a wannabe tyrant and approves of detaining children in our country. It's not "polarization" when one side is literally fascist.

No, I'm not going to fucking compromise with a side which literally doesn't believe my family deserves to be citizens of this country because of where they were born. People who accuse me of being "polarizing" are privileged assholes who can go fuck themselves.

Examine the Overton Window shift over time and it's obvious one side has shifted INCREDIBLY far in the extreme and the other side has followed it that way. Pull back towards the other direction now is seen as an extreme. The middle isn't the middle anymore. It's still far right.
-
It is not acceptable to retain a shift so extreme that human rights are threatened daily and we literally are regressing as a society with income disparity at an all time high and people dying. People fighting for human rights and the planet aren't polarizing politics.

No the problem is that one of the parties is nakedly evil. Kind of worrying you don't see that.

I agree, when one party and maybe under 1,000 people (elected GOP, and CEO's) are damning a planet and life on it due to global warming might cost someone some temporary money as they restructure, you have an issue.

Its so hard to do when one party is united around a completely alternative narrative of what is going on. How do we come together over shared values when we're digesting completely different "facts"? I'm thinking hard about this still. We need liberal and conservative voices...
-
I spend A LOT of time thinking about this too. It's weird in my house bc my hubs voted for trump - yet we have the same values and agree about most issues. I've had to (calmly) explain the other side of the gun, abortion & immigration issues - because he's only heard the lies.

I would agree on this in normal times, but this is like saying, ‘if only liberals could’ve found some common ground with the Nazi party in the 1930’s’. It’s not possible to come together with people who are A) spoon fed disinformation & B) don’t believe in Democracy or equality.
