I have to say I disagree. By telling his colleagues to be cautious,
@SenSasse is saying something that sounds brave, but it’s not actually politically risky at all and he will have no consequences for it. For him, that tone is typical and not an indicator of anything substantive. -
By saying this,
@SenSasse gets to sound like the adult in the room (which seems like an obsession of his), but when the time comes to show courage, he will side with the president who endorsed him. I don’t think that media or moderates should keep letting him take this role.
