White supremacist terrorists like the El Paso killer are certainly inspired by the rhetoric of Trump and other elected Republicans because they use the same rhetoric to justify their attacks. They bear responsibility for these tragedies, but if we don’t vote them out so do we.
Phrases in the El Paso killer’s manifesto: “the Hispanic invasion” Democrats “intend to use open borders, free healthcare for illegals, citizenship...to enact a political coup” “The media is infamous for fake news” “Send them back” All common Trumpist Republican refrains.
And the problem isn’t just Trump and other elected Republicans and right-wing media figures who promote these racist and conspiratorial ideas, it’s also the many others who remain silent and refuse, either in cowardice or in hopes of benefiting politically, to fight against them.
It pains me greatly that the party of Lincoln which emerged as a rejection of these evil philosophies is now a host and vehicle for such hate and violence. It has no business leading America until its leaders have fully recommitted themselves to equality, liberty and truth.
Trump says these words and the Republican party condones it by remaining silent, by not passing bills to help protect people they represent, and some cowards retire. This ongoing national tragedy lays at the feet of the Republican party. #VoteThemAllOut
Exactly. There are sick people in every org. If the boss is decent, they know they have to watch it. If the boss is also a sicko, they know they can come out into the light....and there has never been a POTUS as sick as #Trump
The Republican Party has used the Southern Strategy for over 50 years. So while they now openly suppress legal voters, collude w/ foreign enemies to steal elections & blare white supremacist rhetoric... they've used Racism for a very long time. Trump's simply exposed the toxin.
