You don't just magically reform after spending two and a half years undermining the rule of law in order to raise your political stock on Fox News and get a chance to golf with a cheating mobster President. How do you ever come back from that?

You don't. My best guess tells me that these Republicans are resigning because they've been told to burn the boats or get out. We are witnessing profiles in cowardice, not courage.

They've got the White House, the cabinet, the Senate and the Supreme Court. That's more than enough to do lasting damage to the country.

And while there's a lot of reasons they have this, most important is that dems have caved to their far left coastal, urban wing and abandoned the Rustbelt voters they need to have any power.

They've gone past the benefit of reforming. The Republican party should cease to exist after this dark episode. They've been weigh in the scale and found severely wanting.
