I agree with Democrats’ follow-the-facts approach, but I’m concerned that its pace assumes a conventional 2020 election in which the president can be defeated because he’s unpopular and doesn’t have foreign help again. He likely will and the time to hold him accountable is now.

Agreed, and it will be extremely nasty. Journalists are not prepared or willing to hold him accountable, Congress will not address foreign aggression and the public is extremely entrenched in lies and hate. You can’t even have a discussion with some people you know.
