Seriously. When was the last time you heard a Republican official make a full-throated defense of equality? Our whole system of self-government is predicated upon the truth that we’re all of equal worth, yet they literally cannot even say that word.
This reflects profound intellectual and moral corruption of GOP leadership supported by a segment of the party that has expanded under Trump’s leadership and — even while recognizing its preexisting problems — made the party unrecognizable and harmful to the nation’s interests.
The GOP is in desperate need of new leadership and a renewal driven by our basic values, truth and decency.
This is exactly what the GOP always was, you’ve just got someone leading the party who isn’t afraid to say it out loud.
Remember when the TrumpCons were in an uproar over NPR reading from that Socialist manifesto called the Declaration of Independence a year ago?

You’re a good man with honor and dignity, but I think this inherent racism and disbelief in equality has been present for quite awhile in the GOP. Party leaders are now just empowered to say what they already believed.
