Its time for anyone still holding on to their values to abandon the Republican party. The GOP is the party of racism now. It's the defining characteristic. Everything else they do is subservient to that cause. Give up on the idea they they can be reformed and form a new party.

If conservatives truly want a say in future American politics, they would drop Trump like a hot potato. When Dems retake the gov, it will be a very, very long time before the GOP will be trusted again.

Trump only emphasized what had already been in the GOP for years. We could see it. He said plainly what other politicians said in dog whistles. Right wing propaganda about the supposed evil Obama & Clinton, constant framing of Democrats as the real opponents paved the way.

It is a devil's bargain. The core is loyal, but much fewer. Which means the only way to "win" elections is every form of gerrymandering, voter suppression, and welcoming in hostile foreign powers to tamper on your behalf. It is a corrupt bargain by a party in moral free-fall.
