  He can't distinguish "realpolitik" from "I like authoritarians." He likes authoritarians so he think he's pushing a hard nosed agenda. In fact, he's cozying up to bad guys with little to offer, and shredding important alliances.

  Trump is only interested in “owners” of countries as he thinks he is the current owner of America. He doesn’t care about Russia or SA, he cares about Putin and MBS. He can trade support for NATO for something he wants. He can trade American intelligence for something he wants.
