You're out of your wheelhouse on this one. The infosec community is trying to repair its flawed reputation on diversity/inclusivity. Giving the keynote to a politician whose record suggests that he views half the population as second class citizens is a step backwards there.

The worst thing that ever happened in modern politics, is that abortion became the defining issue of partisanship, demanding purity of belief in each party, making each party see the other as evil, making cooperation on other issues more difficult.

Agree. The very nature of our legislative system is to acknowledge that we disagree strongly on some issues, and find areas of agreement on others. Where we can work together, we should. Abortion & cybersecurity are apples & oranges. As McMullin says, a misguided decision...
