This is truly a dangerous abuse of power. Barr will selectively release sensitive information, as he did with Mueller’s report, to shape a favorable narrative for Trump and impede the intelligence community’s ability to collect intel on foreign threats that assist the president.https://twitter.com/PhilipRucker/status/1131718288906625025 …

Just in: Trump has directed U.S. intelligence agencies to cooperate with the Justice Department's review of the origins of the Russia investigation (the "spying" probe) and has given AG Barr authority to declassify information as he sees fit.

Attorney General Barr has no business knowing what assets CIA has in Russia. It’s absurd and inappropriate for him to even ask. Only in a world in which he’s empowered beyond his official capacity by the president would he have the audacity to pursue this information.pic.twitter.com/mEl8fPFTYv

Trump is using Barr as his willing proxy to obstruct and chill U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies from collecting information that exposes his foreign backing and other corruption. He may succeed, which is why Congress must use its powers to protect the country.

It has become very clear that our Constitution gives the Executive Branch too much power. Our Founding Fathers assumed, incorrectly, that elected leaders would put country over party. We need another Amendment.

They assumed that there would be no parties actually. The concept only partially existed starting with Washington's first term and what we call a political party didn't exist until Martin van Buren formed the Democratic party for Andrew Jackson. Bad history makes for Trump voters

Perhaps @senatemajldr and @RandPaul will release the names of operatives in Russia to Oleg Derepaska as soon as Barr tells them, you know, as a thank you for opening that $200million aluminium plant in Kentucky.

I wonder what kickbacks Mitch McConnell received via his secret charity, the largest in Kentucky? Mitch, who is now worth over $50mil, seems to have an invested monomaniacal interest in protecting Trump.

Treating this situation as “normal” procedure rather than as an emergency or wartime situation, and taking too long to respond, that is. A little less convention & checklist, a little more urgency, James Madison, Abe Lincoln, Hawkeye Pierce, & Capt Sullenberger.

What’s to hide? Let it all out, all of it. This Nation will be a far better entity once that organization is shattered into a thousand pieces. How many elections have the CIA influenced?

They won't release it all. They will cherry pick the intelligence to form a false narrative.
