Sadly, they've begun to show themselves to be no more committed to the country's interests than their colleagues in deep red districts, who realized three years ago that their reelections were dependent upon their loyalty to Trump, which they gave.

Those more interested in self-preservation above all will look for moments in which they can satisfy the increasingly radical requirements of Trumpism and still look at themselves in the mirror. They - in particular - will do additional damage to the republic in the process.

The more honorable Republicans up for reelection in 2020 - if any are left - will proudly maintain their principles, keep their oath of office, and uphold our values even if it means electoral defeat. This is what the country requires and there should be no greater interest.

This is slowly but surely a failing prospect in Utah where increasingly people (including many registered Republicans) are more and more disgusted by Trumpism. Republicans garner approximately 47% of the electorate in Utah.

The Republican party is about to become an unelectable party for the main office. Constantly padering to a base will not get them anywhere. 25% of the electorate doesn't win Presidential elections.
