Many of America's first immigrants, including my ancestors, arrived with little education or wealth, but with a deep understanding of the value of freedom, which shaped America's nature and future. It's remarkable that immigrants still serve that same purpose today. We need them.

I feel the same way. To only value immigrants from certain countries or from a wealthier or higher educated background is to discount our heritage & legacy of who is America. All freedom loving people from every race, country, religion, background, rich/poor have a place here.

Ah, those immigrants who fled totalitarianism with the dream of a home for multigenerational children of the enlightenment, who could be true to observation, reason, and conscience and not live fearfully, like tamed beasts, in an "alternative reality."

I'd amend that just slightly. We do need immigrants, especially those who do understand the human dignity of true freedom, as achieved through hard work and as much self-reliance as possible.

What gets me about @GOP and immigration policy, is most of these immigrants want to come and work hard. They want to be entrepreneurs. They want to be Americans. @GOP as a whole used to understand that.

New arrivals profoundingly comprehend and do not take for granted what liberty and related opportunity allows them to do when all that was available to them previously was being controlled and oppressed by others. Ethically empower others to become all that they can becme.

None of us would be here if not for IMMIGRANTS! The ONLY true Americans are NATIVE AMERICANS.

That's a matter of perspective. Their ancestors immigrated too. How many generations does it take to qualify as native?
