I just got an email from my proactive city councilwoman that she received permission for a special city meeting to discuss HB277 - which allows cities (including Kaysville) to opt-in to ranked-choice voting even if our county does not. Meeting is April 10th, deadline April 15th.

It’s not that hard to figure out. If we want our politics to be less toxic and extreme,
#RankedChoiceVoting is the way. I feel like it would also allow well qualified, but not independently wealthy people to run. It evens the playing field for lesser known candidates. - 5 more replies

Ranked choice is a better way to vote. Third party candidates can’t be funded my Republicans to throw close elections their way.

I believe it would cause Politicians to react in a less reactionary and extreme way as well. As they would be trying to appeal to more moderates.

That was on the Green Party platform in Texas in 1999. Liked it then, like it more now.
