Also there is a huge difference between unintentional and inconsequential. He barely plays checkers, let alone chess. But certainly that doesn't mean any of it is inconsequential. Obviously, far from it.

This is profound. So many reply to concerns about the president with, "I don't read his tweets," or "he can act like an idiot sometimes, but I like his policies." This minimization IS foolish and our response to it does matter.
