Tillis just embarrassed himself, especially after his Op-Ed. One step closer to flipping the Senate in 2020.
Thank you to the twelve Republican Senators, who put country before partisanship and even personal interests in joining their Democratic colleagues to uphold our Constitution today. We should be able to expect this basic standard of service from all of our representatives.

Better than I feared, but still far too few to make a credible veto-override threat, which I'm sure is exactly what they want. A plausible feint at independence but enough cover to still allow Trump to do what he wants.

They didn't put country before partisanship they put their own power before partisanship. It was a good thing, but let's not pretend it was selfless. Now let's see them override the inevitable veto.

Let’s not go too far… Last I checked, the GOP members who voted country over party are also the ones who are up for reelection. That would seem to qualify as a “personal interest“.
