Trump's tweet suggests that the police & military, neither of which bears his name, would literally fight for him, not as Commander in Chief or out of loyalty to country but loyalty to Trump. These words do not represent the police or military persons that I know.

It represents very few of the military persons I know but a shockingly high proportion of police officers I know. Trump's petty authoritarianism is right at home with a distressingly large segment of law enforcement.

I agree that we have strong reason to criticize how the GOP has handled a President with characterological disorders that in and of themselves can't be changed and have posed dangers throughout his Presidency. I hope it's not too late for the GOP to reign in the tyrant.
