Exactly why I voted Democrat for the first time! In 2018, I voted for them to put the check and balance back in our powers. I could no longer trust the GOP to do it. Also, I wanted an investigation into what Trump was really doing!
Americans have a right to know the criminality or corruption of their president and it’s the duty of Congress to discover and report it to them. So far, House Democratic investigators are doing exactly what they were elected to do after two years of House Republican dereliction.

Maybe Congress should establish a new Congressional Office of Inspector General, with the resources and expertise to oversee the Executive Branch and investigate potentially impeachable malfeasance. Better than relying on the Executive Branch to police itself, as we currently do.
