I strongly believe that discussion about funding should never again shut down the government. Some rule must be in place. Trump's ultimatum concerns many taxpayers who want the best security solution; he's w/o convincing justification & a well-studied plan for a 1.9K mile wall.
As someone who, like millions of other Americans, served abroad in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, it’s surreal to see an administration now willfully impair our aviation security for political reasons. Fly 5-6 round trips a month for work. My wife and I just discussed this. With a 3m/o son.. the security risk w TSA and the safety risk w air traffic controllers is going to ground me until this ends. My boss is understanding.. but this is lost revenue and reduced pay for me.

Air Traffic Controllers are also being hugely affected. ATC and TSA are dedicated professionals working right now under tremendous personal and financial stress. That Trump & McConnell would use them as pawns is unconscionable.

I do not believe Trump refused to sign the Senate bill to keep the government open due to hurt feelings by Coulter & Jones. He closed the government to cause a crisis.
